Perhaps you are forgetting that Tele2 Insane, an exact replica of the Green Lantern, was ranked #20 in the world in Mitch Hawker’s 2009 Steel Coaster poll. It was ranked well above X2 (#44) and Tatsu (#37) at Six Flags Magic Mountain and was ranked higher than any other coaster on the entire western side of the United States. So while it may not be big, it certainly must be exciting. Even if this is just a fan poll.

Windseekers/Sky Screamers: I really dislike everyone is adding in the same ride this year. That’s pathetic for the industry to do, and it’s lazy. I’m really disappointed in Cedar Fair & Six Flags

Magic Mountain: New trains and paint on a decade-plus old coaster? Big deal. The Green Lantern isn’t anything big and exciting either. However, it’s nice to see Six Flags bringing in the US’s first ZacSpin.

Green Lantern at Great Adventure: It’s just an orphan with new paint and name. Nothing exciting there either.

One thing to note: Six Flags America is getting nothing for 2011. Absolutely pathetic for Six Flags to do. It’s quickly becoming the next Kentucky Kingdom. Hopefully Six Flags will sell it instead of closing and gutting it out.

However, there are some things I do like seeing:

Six Flags Over Georgia: I’m glad Six Flags is bringing in a Euro-Fighter. They’re fantastic “extreme” family coasters, and it will be just the right addition for a park that lacks a good family coaster.

Cheetah Hunt: I hope Intamin learned from their mistakes on Maverick and get this one right. It looks to be a thrilling attraction, especially with the parts that wind through ditches & canyons.

Texas Giant: Wow. It’s quite amazing seeing Six Flags take a huge gamble like this. I think this is truly the first major breakthrough for Six Flags since X at Magic Mountain. Six Flags has been following the herd, but this finally sets them out. I hope this thing rides like it looks like. It’s sure to be better than the original wood version.

I’m hopeful that 2012 will be much more exciting. From the looks of it, we’ll be seing Cars Land and the renovations at California Adventure and a refurbished Kentucky Kingdom. I’m still holding out hope that Cedar Fair will finally give Valleyfair its first B&M, something it has deserved for quite awhile.

I personally find it a bit harder to believe that something like Windseeker would come across just as exciting as something like Cheetah Hunt or Texas Giant.
